Frigiliana

Frigiliana lies nestled in the mountains 6km north of Nerja. It is locally referred to as the ‘Three Cultures’, because it is said that it is the last place after the fall of the Moorish Empire in 1592 where the Jews, Moors, and Christians continued living in harmony. This feeling of community is still felt today with its narrow cobbled streets, charm and stunning views.

Frigiliana offers a wide array of restaurants for every palate, beautifully maintained landscaping, and a balance of tranquillity and vibrancy that is spectacular. It has consistently been voted as one of the best White Villages in Spain, and credit to the Town Hall who also provide events spanning the entire year culminating in the ‘Tres Culturas’ which falls on the last weekend in August. It takes Frigiliana back in time for four full days of events.

Frigiliana is suitable for everyone. Many of its residence are Spanish, and there are many retired expats, but also many bringing up their children in this stunning White Village with its great school. There really is something for all ages. Hiking the Nature reserves that surround Frigiliana, mountain climbing, horse riding, and all the water sports just a mere 10 minute drive away.

Frigiliana is divided in two parts – the old and new part.  The old part of Frigiliana offers villas, townhouses and apartments with views of the mountains and Mediterranean Sea while the new constructions offer a great Investment opportunity or a second home on the Costa del Sol with a more modern feel.  It is one of the most demanded areas of the Costa del Sol for those looking for village life and those looking to buy a home in Spain.

Frigiliana is a must see for those who want to live or invest in a Spanish Village environment on the Costa del Sol. It really has an amazing balance and feel to it, aged perfectly like a Spanish Rioja wine. If you want tranquillity with a bit of a buzz, this is for you.
